Who needs a Slipknot when Franklins is a perfect vehicle in itself:

some interesting combos:

set aside for a perfect encore after a show that
consisted of a St. Stephen (last-10/31/71 [224])
and High Time (last-7/12/70 [343]):

or this one smack in the middle of the second set:
Help>Slip>DRUMS>(what I consider mostly a Slipknot jam)>F>Music> :

or inbetween the last 3 songs
Comes>F>Smag :

Second set 1977-03-19

Second set post drums 1977-06-04

Stand alone fisrt set closer 1977-09-29 :

Wrat>F>Around :

similar to 1-10-78 but this time out of Stella

Out of drums 1978-04-10
Drums>F>Black Peter :

Or as a nice stand alone opener 1978-05-09 :

And the beginning of another "perfect pairing"
1978-05-17
1/2 step>F>MAMU :

Franklins helps get to end of this phenominal show known for its legendary encore.

Freshly back from Egypt, in the middle of the Winterland
run, Franklin with its 1/2 step buddy open the second set
1978-10-20
1/2>F

The Dead pulled this same second set opening combo
in Boston a month later
1978-11-13
And as a matter of fact the next 15 times Franklin was
performed, it was paired with 1/2 step exclusively :

1978-10-20 set 2
1978-11-13 set 2
1978-11-20
1978-11-23
1978-12-12
1978-12-19
1978-12-27

1979-01-08
1979-02-04
1979-05-04
1979-05-11
1979-07-01
1979-08-05
1979-09-01
1979-09-05
Of these 15, 13 were first set. All but one were openers.

Gotta go now. If the search engine at this sight would
stop crapping the bed, I could have got more done.
This should keep you busy for a while.

Will finish up the 79s and take you all the way
to 1995 (or 1989-10-08 when it offically becomes the
Help>Slip>Frank show) later tonight or tomorrow. So,
feel free to highlight any 80-95 shows, but I will
will just be going over them in a little bit. just go over
some of the ones already highlighted maybe

peace
~~craven

Mercy sakes, the 6-9-76 is stellar. I was up late doing some work and stayed to finish the Franklin's encore on the headphones well after the work was done.

I'll be searching for that one now...

Thanks for the link.
